About SREference
SREference is a compact reference for site reliability engineering: the formulas, tables, templates and definitions practitioners look up repeatedly.
Accuracy and sources
Pages cite their sources. The primary ones are Google’s freely available books Site Reliability Engineering and The Site Reliability Workbook, plus the original descriptions of the RED and USE methods. Where a page gives a starting point rather than an industry standard, such as severity levels or a graduated error budget policy, it says so.
Calculations run in your browser using the same code that generates the static tables. Durations assume a 365.25-day year unless a page states otherwise. SREference is independent and not affiliated with Google.
Privacy
SREference has no accounts, forms that submit data, advertising or cookies. Calculations run in your browser, but calculator inputs are written to the page URL so you can share a result; if you reload or share that URL, the values reach the web server and may appear in its logs and in browser history, so don’t enter anything sensitive. The production site may use Fathom Analytics, a cookie-free analytics service, to count page views.
